2021 09 Trans Georgia trail day 13.
The horses were running free except for the leadhorse during the night. Somehow they ate enough. At 6 when I got up it was raining and it did not stop allday. For 4 hours we walked and rode our 4 legged friends down along the river.
For an hour we walked on the busy highway, so the horses would get used to the big trucks roaring by. At a fortress including a monastery
We stopped to have a hamburger bun with lots of salad and a tiny burger. But if the devil is hungry he will eat flies. So we are not complaining. From here it's going to be another 4 hours following a dirt road across some hills. If given up trying to have my horse go any faster than 4 kmh. I think all horses in the world are unionized and have agreed to that speed limit. It will be another long day in the saddle, even if I walked about half of the distance till now. We run into pigs and later piglets in the road and grass seems to get sparser as we move on. When we crossed the bridge before the fortress we saw a herd of about 14 horses, the lead mate with foal, was exceptionally pretty. Tonight we will be picked up by Lashas father taking us to Tibilis again, while Lasha Gagoidze will take the horses across the Southside of the border of the autonomous zone
Of south ospethia. We will go to the black See and join him again in about 5 days to continue in the Caucasian mountains. We covered 350 km of distance and climbed 15000 m of elevation. The horses deserve a break and will be ready for us when we return.
