2021 09 Trans Georgia trail day 8
We had to wait till 10 in the morning so we could get freshly baked bred to take with us on the trail for the next 3 to 4 days. We explored Shatily and I left a note for Dato Jalabauri a common friend who had gotten Kabardine Horses to Germany.
We followed the road along the muddy creek. The government is in the process of building bridges for a new road to Shatili. We reached the first finished bridge, crossed it and followed a smaller river up the mountain to Isartghele pass at 3550 m. Just above the treeline we found a sheperds raw building and lots of good grass for the horses. We needed to give them another half day break, so we stopped after 3 hours of riding so they could rest and eat the good mountain herbs, they love so much. At the sheperds place we found a table and a bench which provided us for some glamping underneath our tarp, as it had started to rain again. We ate lunch and then just
relaxed while I wrote my blog and Tina was watching out for bears. A beautiful waterfall sent us his noise from afar and the clouds were chasing each other, with sunshine and rain alternating. The east is blue sky and white clouds, the west, where we are heading tomorrow is dark grey and heavy with rain clouds.
We will have to take the tarp down and turn it into a tent so we won't get sprayed by horizontal rain.
